Privacy Policy

ClarityYT is a YouTube analytics and growth tool. It is run by an independent developer, not a company, and it is operated from India. “We” below means that developer.

Four things, and nothing else.

Your Google account details

When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. If you sign up with an email and password instead, we store your email and a hashed password — never the password itself.

Your YouTube channel data

Read-only, through the two scopes listed in the next section: your channel details, your videos and their titles, descriptions, thumbnails, view counts, likes, comments and lengths, and your YouTube Analytics reports including audience retention.

What you create in the app

Your Ask AI conversations, generated scripts, video ideas, title packs and thumbnail concepts, and the reviews and scans the app has run for you.

What you tell us during onboarding

Your country, which sets the default language the AI writes in, and your age. Both are optional and neither is shared with anyone.

We do not collect anything else. There is no advertising network, no analytics tracker and no third-party cookie in this app; the only cookie it sets is the one that keeps you signed in.

ClarityYT asks for two YouTube scopes. Both are read-only. There is no scope in this app that can upload, delete, edit or publish anything on your channel, and there is no code in it that tries.

youtube.readonly

Reads your channel details and your video list — titles, descriptions, thumbnails, view counts, likes, comments and lengths. This is what every recommendation is built on. Without your own titles and view counts the app can only give generic advice, which is the thing it exists not to do.

yt-analytics.readonly

Reads your YouTube Analytics reports — average view duration, impressions, click-through rate and the audience retention curve for each video. Retention is the only signal that separates a weak hook from weak pacing. Without it the app can see that a video underperformed but not where it lost people.

You can withdraw either grant at any time — disconnect the channel in Settings, or remove ClarityYT at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting hands the grant back to Google and deletes the synced data at the same time.

Your data is used to produce your own reviews, recommendations and generated content, and for nothing else. Specifically:

• We do not sell your data, to anybody, under any circumstances.
• We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, because we have none.
• We do not use your channel data to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's.
• We do not show your data to other users. The only numbers that appear publicly are the total count of connected channels and analysed videos on the home page, which name nobody.
• Nobody reads your content except you, and whichever service processes it to answer your request — listed below.

ClarityYT’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In plain terms, that commitment means:

• Data from Google APIs is used only to provide or improve the features you can see — your reviews, your recommendations, your generated content.
• It is never transferred to anyone else except as needed to provide those features, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition, and never for advertising.
• It is never sold.
• No human reads it, except where you have explicitly asked us to, where it is needed for security, or where the law requires it.
• It is never used to train generalised AI or machine-learning models.

ClarityYT is built on four outside services. Each sees only what it needs to do its job, and each is bound by its own terms.

Google (Gemini API)

Generates the reviews, ideas, scripts and everything else the AI writes. Your video titles, descriptions and performance numbers, and whatever you type into the app. ClarityYT is currently on Gemini's free tier, where Google may use what is sent to improve its products and may have it reviewed by a person. Do not type anything into ClarityYT that you would not want read.

Neon

Hosts the database. Everything the app stores: your account, your channel data and everything you generate.

Vercel

Hosts and serves the app. Standard request data — IP address, browser and the pages you open — plus anything in transit while a page loads.

Razorpay

Takes payment for Pro subscriptions. Your payment details, which go to Razorpay directly and never through ClarityYT. We store only a subscription reference and its status.

That is the complete list. If it ever changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.

Nothing here expires on a schedule. You decide how long we hold it, and the controls are in Settings.

Your account and everything you generated

Until you delete your account. There is no separate expiry.

Synced YouTube data (videos, analytics, retention curves)

Until you disconnect the channel or delete your account. Disconnecting deletes it immediately.

Your YouTube access tokens

Until you disconnect or delete. Both hand the grant back to Google as well as deleting our copy.

Ask AI conversations

Until you clear them in Settings, or delete your account. Clearing removes every conversation at once.

Usage records (which feature you used, and when)

Until you delete your account. These are what the plan limits are counted from, so they cannot be cleared separately.

Backups made by our database host may hold deleted rows for a short period afterwards before they roll off. We cannot reach into a backup to remove a single account, and the backup is never used for anything but restoring the service.

Both are buttons in the app rather than requests you have to send us, and neither needs our involvement.

Export

Settings → Your data downloads everything we hold on you as a single JSON file: your account, every channel and synced video, every review and scan, everything you generated, and your full chat history. Credentials are deliberately left out — a password hash and a live access token say nothing about you and should not sit in a downloads folder.

Deletion

Settings → Delete account removes the account and everything listed in section 7, hands your YouTube grant back to Google, and cannot be undone. There is no grace period and nothing is retained to restore from, so export first if you want to keep anything. No confirmation email is sent, because ClarityYT has no mail system — the confirmation is on screen.

Your YouTube access and refresh tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, so they are unreadable in the database itself. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in a form anyone can reverse. Everything travels over HTTPS.

No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you believe something is wrong, tell us at clarityyt.support@gmail.com and we would rather hear it early than late.

ClarityYT is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and it will be deleted.

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, the date at the top changes and the new version is what applies from that date. Continuing to use ClarityYT after a change means you accept it; if you do not, delete your account — section 8 says how.
